LiderA Advisors Code of Ethics
LiderA Advisors Code of Ethics – Voluntary System for Support and Evaluation of Sustainable Construction.
(It adheres to the Statutes of the Order of Engineers, regarding its code of ethics, applying Articles 86 to 89 of these Statutes to the LiderA System).
A. Mission of the Advisors
1 – It is the fundamental duty of the LiderA advisor to be well-prepared in order to competently perform their duties and contribute to the progress of sustainable construction and its best application for the service of humanity.
2 – The LiderA advisor must contribute to sustainable development by integrating environmental aspects into construction and promoting them.

B. Role of the LiderA Advisors
1. Support the development of projects to adopt more sustainable technical solutions, with a particular focus on the environmental aspect.
2. Contribute to the development of mechanisms and solutions that promote good environmental leadership throughout the various phases of project construction.
3. Comply with the legal requirements, principles, and criteria of the LiderA System.
4. Gather and/or systematize data and evidence of the environmental performance of projects, with a particular emphasis on those outlined in LiderA.
5. Contribute to the improvements of the LiderA system.
2. Contribute to the development of mechanisms and solutions that promote good environmental leadership throughout the various phases of project construction.
3. Comply with the legal requirements, principles, and criteria of the LiderA System.
4. Gather and/or systematize data and evidence of the environmental performance of projects, with a particular emphasis on those outlined in LiderA.
5. Contribute to the improvements of the LiderA system.
C – Duties of the LiderA Advisor towards the community
1 – The LiderA advisor must ensure the safety of the execution staff, users, and the general public.
2 – The LiderA advisor must oppose any fraudulent use of their work, or actions contrary to the common good.
3 – If the advisor becomes aware of manifestly fraudulent situations regarding the application of the LiderA System, they must report them to the LiderA System.
4 – The LiderA advisor must seek the best technical solutions, weighing the economy and quality of production or projects they design, direct, organize, or advise, with the aim of achieving the best environmental performance and sustainable development.
2 – The LiderA advisor must oppose any fraudulent use of their work, or actions contrary to the common good.
3 – If the advisor becomes aware of manifestly fraudulent situations regarding the application of the LiderA System, they must report them to the LiderA System.
4 – The LiderA advisor must seek the best technical solutions, weighing the economy and quality of production or projects they design, direct, organize, or advise, with the aim of achieving the best environmental performance and sustainable development.
D – Duties of the LiderA Advisor towards the employer and the client
1 – The LiderA advisor must contribute to the achievement of the environmental, economic, and social objectives of the organizations they are part of, promoting increased productivity, improvement in product quality, and better working conditions with fair treatment of people.
2 – The LiderA advisor must provide their services with diligence and punctuality, ensuring that neither the client nor third parties are harmed, and must never abandon the tasks entrusted to them or the roles they perform without justification.
3 – The LiderA advisor must not disclose or use professional secrets or information, especially scientific and technical knowledge obtained confidentially during their duties, unless they believe that the common good is at serious risk.
4 – The LiderA advisor should only be paid for services they have actually provided, with regard to their fair value.
5 – The LiderA advisor must refuse to collaborate on tasks where payment is contingent upon confirming a predetermined conclusion, although this condition may influence the setting of their fee.
6 – The LiderA advisor must refuse compensation from more than one party for the same work when conflicts of interest could arise or without the consent of all involved parties.

E – Duties of the LiderA advisor in the exercise of their profession
1 – The LiderA advisor, in their professional associative activity, must advocate for the prestige of the profession and stand out through the value of their collaboration and impeccable conduct, always acting in good faith, loyalty, and impartiality, whether working individually or collectively.
2 – The LiderA advisor must oppose any form of unfair competition.
3 – The LiderA advisor must exercise the utmost discretion in professional advertising that they may make or authorize.
4 – The LiderA advisor should not accept work or undertake functions beyond their competence or that require more time than they have available.
5 – The LiderA advisor should only sign opinions, projects, or other professional work that they have authored or collaborated on.
6 – The LiderA advisor should issue their professional opinions with objectivity and impartiality.
7 – The LiderA advisor, in the exercise of public functions, in the company, and in the work or services they undertake, should act with the utmost integrity to prevent discrimination or discredit.
8 – The LiderA advisor must refuse to collaborate on work that they need to judge in the course of different functions or that involves ambiguous situations.

8 – The LiderA advisor must refuse to collaborate on work that they need to judge in the course of different functions or that involves ambiguous situations.
F – The reciprocal duties of the LiderA assessors
1 – The LiderA assessor must objectively evaluate the work of their collaborators, contributing to their professional enhancement and promotion.
2 – The LiderA assessor should only claim authorship when the originality and relative importance of their contribution justify it, exercising this right with respect for others’ intellectual property and the limitations imposed by the common good.
3 – The LiderA assessor must provide all possible collaboration to colleagues, as long as it is requested.
4 – The LiderA assessor must not harm the professional reputation or activities of colleagues, nor allow their work to be undervalued. When necessary, they should assess it with elevation, always safeguarding the dignity of the profession.
5 – The LiderA assessor must refuse to replace another LiderA assessor, only doing so when the reasons for the substitution are justified and providing the colleague with the necessary explanation.
